About Culturenet Cymru
Culturenet Cymru Ltd is a not-for-profit private company limited by guarantee, based at The National Library of Wales and funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Culturenet Cymru collaborates with heritage bodies and community groups throughout Wales to develop a range of innovative projects. With a firm emphasis on lifelong learning and social inclusion, our aim is to produce high-quality online resources that explore and promote the heritage and culture of Wales.
In pursuing this aim, Culturenet Cymru is involved in the following activities:
- Creating and developing a series of bilingual (Welsh and English) projects that advance knowledge and generate interest in the heritage and culture of Wales
- Working with museums, archives and libraries throughout Wales in order to digitize thousands of items relating to the heritage and culture of Wales
- Working with local community groups in order to build new skills and enable community digitization projects
- Developing a series of online resources and toolkits which will be hosted on the Culturenet Cymru site and can be used by the members to build knowledge and capacity in the sector
- Using existing projects to develop a range of educational resources
